A 9 day / 8 night tour of the important ancient ruins, colonial cities and ecology of the Yucatan.
Begins and ends in Cancun.

 | Day 1 – Cancun, Valladolid - After arrive at Cancún International Airport the tour members will be met by a member of the staff that will accompany the tour for the rest of the program. The tour will then transfer to the Colonial city of Valladolid, check in at El Meson del Marques hotel for time to relax before dinner. At dinner there will be a review of the itinerary and lecture on the History of the Mayas in the Peninsula
of Yucatan. (D) |

 | Day 2 - Valladolid, Ek Balam,
Chichén Itza - After breakfast there will be a city tour of Valladolid, visiting the Cathedral, the Main square plaza, and the Franciscan convent built in 1530. Afterwards the tour will continue to the archaeological site of Ek Balam, considered by the modern archaeologist as one of the most important cities in the Maya world,
for walking site lecture. Then the tour will continue
to the Cenote Ik Kil, for a swim and to refresh before lunch is served next to the cenote there. A 5 minute transfer to
Chichén Itza will take tour members to their hotel in time to relax and enjoy of the gardens and their swimming pool before dinner at the hotel. (B, L, D) |

 | Day 3 - Chichén Itza, Izamal, Uxmal - After breakfast there will be a walking site lecture through the archaeological site of
Chichén Itza, then back to the hotel for lunch and a little relaxation before continuing to the colonial City of Izamal. There there will be a walking city tour and visit a the Convent of our Lady Inmaculada before continuing to Uxmal.
After check in at the hotel, and before dinner, there will be a visit to the Light and Sound show at the site, then back to the hotel for dinner and overnight accommodations. (B, L, D) |

 | Day 4 - Uxmal, Kabah, Loltun Caves, Merida - After breakfast tour members will check out and be transferred to the site of Uxmal for a walking site lecture. Afterwards the tour will continue to Kabah site and then to the Loltun Caves for a 45 minute trek inside of the caves complex. Lunch will be served there before continuing to the City of Merida
for check in and dinner at the hotel. (B, L, D) |


 | Day 5 - Celestun, Merida - After breakfast the tour will depart for The Biosphere of Reserve of Celestun, for a boat ride through the "rio de flamingos". Over 200 species of local and migratory birds nest in this area so the 1:30 minute boat ride will be a great chance to see much of the flora and fauna of the area. Afterwards tour members will visit the
town of Celestun with a lunch at the Restaurant Las Palapas, an ocean front restaurant with seafood specialties. There will be time to walk
the beach and collect sea shells. Afternoon will find the tour back at the hotel in Merida. In the evening, before dinner, there will be city tour of the Cathedral, Governors Palace, Montejo Palace, Artisans Park, and a ride through the Montejo Palace. Dinner will be at a typical restaurant, Los Almendros. (B, L, D) |

 | Day 6 - Cobá, Riviera Maya - After breakfast there will be a departure to the ruins of
Cobá, with a walking site lecture before continuing to Tulum, the only major Mayan site built on the coast. Along the way there will be time for swimming at the Gran Cenote, a perfect time to refresh and relax. Lunch will be provided at Don Cafeto restaurant at Tulum town.
The tour will then continue to the hotel for a free afternoon, dinner and overnight accommodations. (B, L, D) |

 | Day 7 - Tulum, Muyil, Sian Ka'an - After breakfast the tour departs for the a site of Tulum for a walking site lecture, then continues to the Biosphere Reserve of Sian Ka'an. Here there will be a visit to the Mayan site of Muyil, a walking tour through the jungle and a boat ride through the biosphere with a full explication of the flora and fauna.
Snacks and drinks will be provided on board and there will be an opportunity to swim in the
fresh water canals and cenotes. In the afternoon the tour travels back to the hotel in time to relax before the 6:45 PM transfer to Muyil lagoon to be part of the Crocodile tagging research program - a truly unique and memorable experience - lead by Amigos of Sian Ka'an. A box dinner will be provided on board. Later that night the tour goes back to the hotel. (B, L, D) |

 | Day 8 - Botanical Garden. Puerto Morelos Reef Park - After breakfast transfer to Puerto Morelos for a walking lecture through the Botanical Garden there and a visit to the Chicle Camp, an ancient Maya agriculture method with a chance to admire the wild Spider monkeys of the area. The tour then continues to the pier of Puerto Morelos to take the boat that will take
tour members snorkeling on the
Barrier Reef, visiting 2 different spots for 45 minutes each. All equipment is provide by the Park in Puerto Morelos, and lunch will be provided at Los Pelicanos restaurant. Afterwards it's back to the hotel for leisure time, dinner and overnight. (B, L, D) |

 | Day 9 - Cancun Departure - Depending on the departing flight schedule there may be time to enjoy the beach at the hotel before the transfer to Cancun International Airport to make the departing flight. (B) |
